film producer Priyadarshan Have come out in support of the actor Rajpal Yadav Later he was granted interim bail in the check bounce case. The director, who has worked with Yadav in several films over the years, described him as an “innocent” person who was caught in a “trap”.Rajpal Yadav was recently granted interim bail in a Rs 9 crore check bounce case related to the loan taken for his 2010 film Ata Pata Lapata. The actor had reportedly borrowed Rs 5 crore from businessman Madhav Gopal Aggarwal for the film, the amount later increased to Rs 9 crore due to interest and penalties. He has deposited Rs 1.5 crore and has been given interim relief till March 18.
‘Our relationship will never change’
Speaking about the actor and their long-standing friendship, Priyadarshan said that he has known Rajpal for many years and believes that he is one of the most genuine people in the industry.“I have a relationship with Rajpal, I have known him for many years and I would say he is the most innocent actor I have ever seen,” he told ANI.The filmmaker said that Yadav’s trusting nature might have landed him in trouble.
Priyadarshan said, “This boy was so innocent that he got caught in a trap and our relationship will never change. Had it been anyone else, so many people would not have come together to help him. A lot of people were ready to help him because they understood how innocent this boy is. You can see the innocence on his face and the same innocence is in his heart too.” Priyadarshan and Rajpal Yadav have a professional relationship going back over two decades. The actor has been a part of many popular comedies directed by Priyadarshan, including Hungama, Garam Masala, Malamaal Weekly, Chup Chup Ke, Bhagam Bhaag, Dhol and Bhool Bhulaiyaa.
