Iran has rejected the 15-point peace proposal issued by Pakistan. A Foreign Ministry spokesperson said that Iran has rejected the recent peace proposal sent through intermediaries. Iran has reiterated that any ceasefire talks will be done keeping in mind its national interests.
According to the report of news agency Associated Press, both Iran and America had received a draft proposal, which was prepared by Pakistan. It called for a 45-day ceasefire and reopening of the Strait of Hormuz to find a way to end the war. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Bagai said that Tehran had already explained its position and conditions through the mediator.
There will be no talk under pressure: Iran
He said that Iran will not bow down to any kind of pressure or threats and will not negotiate. Ismail Bagai said, ‘Deadlines and threats of war do not match with negotiations. Tehran has certain conditions that are based on its national interests and should not be interpreted as a sign of any kind of agreement.
Bagai said, ‘Iran does not hesitate at all in clearly stating its demands which it considers legitimate. Doing this should not be seen as a sign of any agreement, but as a reflection of confidence. Tehran said that it has prepared its diplomatic response to America and will announce it at the right time.
Donald Trump’s threat to Iran
All this is happening at a time when US President Donald Trump said in his familiar style a day earlier (April 5, 2026) that Tuesday (April 7, 2026) will be Power Plant Day and Bridge Day in Iran. This is clearly a threat to attack Iran’s power plants and bridges. Trump claimed that talks are still going on between America and Iran and there is a good possibility of an agreement on April 6.
